At our school, learning through genuine discovery is at the heart of our approach. Each of the six “Units of Inquiry” centers on a big question about the world. Children actively explore these questions, draw their own conclusions, and present their knowledge in German and English.
For example: The “How We Organize Ourselves” unit in 3rd grade:
The children plan and run a real school market. In the process, they calculate prices, write advertising copy, make products, and sell them. This activity brings together mathematics, language arts, social studies, and teamwork in a single interdisciplinary learning unit.
