A Special First Day of School at IBSM

To kick off the new school year, we were delighted to welcome our new first-graders to the International Bilingual School Munich (IBSM). And this year, the first day of school was special in more ways than one.

Before heading into the classroom for the first time, the children were able to arrive at the IBSM in no hurry, together with their parents, and enjoy the garden. Of course, the many lovingly decorated back-to-school gift bags were there, too. The excitement was palpable among the children, parents, and our teaching staff alike—after all, the first day of school is a big moment. Afterward, the children made their way to their new classrooms together with their homeroom teachers. There, they began not only their first day of school but also a whole new chapter in their lives.

Two first-grade classes for the first time

There’s something special about this school year: With the new Class 1b, we’re starting two first-grade classes for the first time this year. The reason for this is our future project: In the coming months, the new campus on Feldmochinger Straße will continue to take shape. Until all classes move to the new campus together in the spring of 2027, the new Class 1b will initially remain in our current school building.

You can already get a sneak peek at the new campus there: Class 1b’s classroom has already been furnished with the new furniture and technology that will also be used on campus in the future. This gives us a glimpse of just how modern and inviting the learning environment on our new campus will be.

We are very excited to welcome our new first-graders and wish them—as well as all the other IBSM students—a wonderful, exciting, and successful school year.

Welcome to IBSM!
